MOGGLE
What is moggle

Ranked debate,
decided in minutes

moggle is a ranked 1v1 debate arena. You're matched with an opponent, handed a motion and a side, and given a few minutes to argue it on camera. An AI judge scores the exchange argument-by-argument and moves your rank. No panels, no waiting, and a result you can actually read.

The idea

Argument as a sport

Most places you argue online reward volume and heat. moggle rewards the argument. Two debaters get the same motion and opposite sides, speak in a fixed format, and a judge decides who made the stronger case, then says exactly why.

You don't pick the easy side. Sides are assigned, so winning is about how well you build a case on demand, not which opinion you already hold.

One motion. Two debaters. Six speeches. One winner, and a scorecard that shows exactly where every point came from.

The loop

A match, end to end

  1. 1

    Match & set up

Queue up and get paired by rating. The motion and sides are locked in. Sides are assigned, not chosen.
  2. 2

    Prep

A short, timed window to plan your case before the clock starts running.
  3. 3

    Six speeches

Three rounds (opening, rebuttal, closing), alternating between you and your opponent. While you speak, their mic is muted so nothing steps on your time.
  4. 4

    Judging

When the last speech ends, the AI judge reads the whole exchange once and builds the result.
  5. 5

    Verdict

A 0 to 100 scoreline, why the winner won, one thing to fix next time, and your rating change.

The format

Every match is the same shape

A match is six fixed slots. The structure never changes, so the only variable is how well you argue.

Assigned sides

You argue the side you're given

When the match starts you might be defending a position you'd normally argue against. That's the point. The skill moggle measures is building the strongest honest version of a case under time pressure. Steelmanning, not cherry-picking.

It also keeps things fair: because neither side chose their position, the win comes down to argument quality, and the judge never sees who's who.

The verdict

You get more than a number

Every match ends with a full breakdown, not just a scoreline:

The scoreline

Each side's share of total impact, normalized to 100, like 75-25.

Why you won or lost

Plain-language reasoning from the judge on what carried the debate.

Next time

One concrete thing to fix: feedback you can take into your next match.

The impact ledger

Every point traced back to a specific argument, plus a momentum chart of how the debate moved.

The ladder

Win to climb

moggle is ranked. You move up the ladder, from Bronze to Silver to Gold to Heroic, by winning matches against players near your level.

Rating reflects the outcome, not the margin: a narrow win and a blowout move you the same way. A win is a win.
